On Wednesday, mosques in North Rhine-Westphalia are evacuated because of a bomb threat. Anonymous bomb threats now go to a hotel in Bielefeld at night. It will be cleared.

A Bielefeld hotel was cleared at night due to a bomb threat. The hotel had received two anonymous threats from a previously unknown man, the police said. 106 guests had to leave their rooms for more than an hour and a half. The municipal utility provided two buses for the accommodation of the people.

Rescue workers searched the building with an explosive dog, after no suspicious items were found, the hotel was released. The caller had requested assets in the form of the digital currency Bitcoin. The investigation into his identity and the background of the crime was reportedly still in the morning. Nobody got hurt.

Already on Wednesday four mosques in North Rhine-Westphalia had been evacuated because of a bomb threat – one of them in Bielefeld. Explosives were not found there, just like in Essen, Unna and Hagen.
