The faithful of Lord of Miracles are getting ready to celebrate this Sunday, October 18, the central day of the festival in honor of Cristo Moreno, and although this year it will not make its traditional processional tour due to the coronavirus (COVID-19), his devotion will reach the homes of Peru and the world through different digital channels.
As recalled, the local ecclesiastical authorities announced at the end of September that the image of the Lord of Miracles It will not travel the streets of Lima this year as a measure to avoid new infections of COVID-19.
Thus, on Saturday, October 3, from noon, the first virtual tour of the Christ of Pachacamilla was held – for the first time in the history of this devotion – carried out with the emission of images of processions from previous years through of the social networks of Archbishopric of Lima, the Brotherhood of the Lord of Miracles and the Las Nazarenas Sanctuary (Nazarenas TV).
What virtual activities will be held on October 18 in honor of the Lord of Miracles?
The Eucharistic celebration will be officiated by the Archbishop of Lima and Primate of Peru, Monsignor Carlos Castillo, and will be broadcast LIVE for the entire country by TV Peru (State channel) and on the Facebook pages of the Archbishopric of Lima and of Nazarenas TV.
However, those who wish to relive the traditional route of October 18 can connect at 6:00 am to the channel of YouTube of Nazarenas TV, where images of processions from previous years will be projected.
Likewise, at 6:00 pm the second station of the Way of the Cross with the meditation of Monsignor Carlos Castillo.
It is necessary to indicate that this prayer practice will take place every day between October 17 and 30, and will have the participation of the titular and auxiliary bishops of the dioceses of Chosica, Carabayllo, Lurín, Callao and Lima.
