100% of Spaniards over 80 are vaccinated against Covid, according to official figures from the Ministry of Health. A rate reached on April 27 for the first dose, a few weeks later for the complete regimen. This is certainly an estimate, based on the number of inhabitants of this age group known in July 2020 by the National Institute of Statistics. As acknowledged by the ministry to the Newtral.es website, “It is not possible to ensure that all people over 80 have been vaccinated”. “But we can consider that 97% or 98% of those over 80 have actually been vaccinated”, believes Toni Trilla, head of the preventive medicine and epidemiology service at the Barcelona Hospital Clinic and usual advisor to the Catalan regional government.
