DThese words sound like a controversy in the ranks of the Les Républicains (LR) party. On Twitter, the former number two of LR, Guillaume Peltier, wondered “how to remain insensitive to Eric Zemmour’s speech for France”. “A single opponent, Emmanuel Macron; a single objective, to repair France; only one way, to unite all the voters of the right, with the Republicans ”, estimated this support of Eric Ciotti at the congress of LR, on the sidelines of the first meeting of the polemicist at the Parc des Expositions de Villepinte, in Seine-Saint-Denis.
Guillaume Peltier immediately drew the wrath of many of his right-wing comrades, like the deputy Guillaume Larrivé, who called on him not to “fall into this trap” set by the far-right candidate. While the Republicans displayed unity and cohesion after the victory of Valérie Pécresse, who will therefore represent the right in the presidential election, Éric Ciotti, defeated by the president of the Île-de-France region in the second round of the LR congress, had already put under pressure the candidate Sunday, December 5 by stimulating that “the message launched by Valérie Pécresse is not a good message”.
In the past, Eric Ciotti had already distinguished himself by declaring that he would vote in favor of Eric Zemmour rather than Emmanuel Macron, in the second round of the presidential election, in the event of a face to face between the two men.
