Find out how to save screenshots from YouTube videos to Chrome in the highest video resolution and get HD screenshots.
Chrome gained the “copy video frame” feature from Microsoft Edge. However, in Google’s browser, the function is called “copy video frame”, although it has the same activation mechanism in videos. In case you don’t already know, this functionality is similar to the screen capture (“print screen”), but there is a difference, as you can see below.
Save images from videos in Chrome in highest resolution
Now it’s easier to get high resolution screenshots of Youtube videos through Chrome browser. Through the “copy video frame” feature, it will be possible to save images in the highest resolution offered by the video. That is, if a video on YouTube is playing in 4K, you will be able to save image frames with a resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels.
Necessary time: 3 minutes
Update Google Chrome to version 116 by clicking on the three vertical dots in the top right corner, hovering your mouse over “Help”” and clicking on “About Google Chrome”.
Pause a YouTube video at the desired scene and double-click with the right button on any part of the image.
Select the “copy video frame” option.
Right-click on the blank canvas of the Microsoft Paint application and select “Paste”. You can use another image application if you want.
That’s it, now you have an image with the same resolution as the YouTube video that was playing.
