Shanghai (ots/PRNewswire) At Huawei Connect 2023, Huawei Electric Power Digitalization BU hosted a summit entitled “Thrive with Digital, Accelerate Intelligence for Electric Power.” David Sun, CEO of Electric Power Digitalization BU, began his speech by discussing how the industry is facing the new pressures of the power grid through the rapid development of new energies. He began by stating that we need to systematically build core competencies. Changes in digital production relationships (awareness, organization and talent), digital productivity improvements such as computing and transmission performance and innovations in the structure of the ecosystem can drive the intelligent evolution of the energy system.

Sun continued that the digital transformation of power requires a computing power system with an appropriate structure and on-demand, accurate and secure network connections. This enables intelligent data processing and agile response in real time. He emphasized that in the digital age we need the open Costa Rica model to provide industrial and cross-border capacity to customers. Huawei will focus on its area of expertise, pioneering new technologies and working with industrial companies, integrators and partners to successfully advance the digitalization of power supply.

State Grid Shaanxi has ventured into building digital distribution networks together with Huawei and 28 partners. Zhang Genzhou, CIO of State Grid Shaanxi, reported on the project’s successes.

State Grid Jiangsu currently has a computing power system in use. Based on Huawei’s computing power and Pangu models, the company has explored a series of intelligent power supply development and application modes, said Wei Lei, director of digitalization.
