The former prima ballerina of the Bolshoi Theater Anastasia Volochkova has been performing for many years with her own program “Ballerina Through the Looking Glass of the Circus”. Recently, the dancer’s project has undergone major changes. The singer Tatiana Tuzova, better known as the Russian Barbie, joined the brainchild of Volochkova. Now the show has two primas, which is reflected in its new name: “Ballerina and Doll in the Looking Glass of the Circus.”
In a recent interview, Anastasia Volochkova said that it takes about 300 thousand rubles to conduct one performance of the show. For this money, the decorations are delivered, their installation and dismantling, the rent of the hall, light and sound are paid. Anastasia assured that she herself does not receive a fee for appearing on stage, since the project is charitable. Spectators are given tickets for free.
Anastasia speaks somewhat streamlined about where she gets the money to organize concerts. The star refers to the help of “kind people”.
“I have to look for funds myself. If I don’t find the support of kind people, and I happen to meet such people, then I spend my money, ”says Volochkova.
The artist assures that she does not mind spending her own savings on the show. She wants to give Russians positive and love. According to Anastasia, she cannot live without performances, applause and flowers. Volochkova is truly happy only on stage.
“Yes, the cost part is very large, but the time will come when I will be many years old: I won’t be able to dance anymore, but I can’t be on stage. I really live only on the stage. I will have a lot of money, but I won’t be able to dance, ”the artist shared.
It is worth noting that the charity project of Anastasia Volochkova is often criticized. On the Web, the ballerina’s performances are called “bad taste” and “hack-work.” So, in the spring of 2019, the mayor of Anapa, Yuri Polyakov, canceled the concert of the scandalous ballerina in the city. The mayor refused to spend money from the budget on the organization of the show “Ballerina Through the Looking Glass of the Circus.” The cost of the contract, as reported on the public procurement website, was 639 thousand rubles.
