Famous model Irina Shayk gave a frank interview to the American glossy edition of V Magazine. A native of the Chelyabinsk region spoke about a difficult childhood, early career and motherhood. According to Shayk, her early years can hardly be called prosperous. At 14, she lost her father. Irina’s mother worked three jobs, but the money was still sorely lacking. Shayk went into modeling so that her family would have something to live on. She never dreamed of a career on the podium.
“I did not choose to be a model. As a child, I was bullied at school because I was very thin, I had big lips and darker skin, and I loved high heels, ”shared Irina.
Sheik signed up with her sister for the company at the fashion model school. The girls wanted to learn women’s tricks, for example, how to pluck their eyebrows correctly. “I went to music school for seven years because my mom was a pianist and she really wanted me to play the piano and love music, and then I went to college to study marketing,” said the celebrity.
When Shake was almost 20, an agent came to the beauty school. He saw potential in Irina. The long-legged beauty was offered a contract.
“It was very interesting for me, because suddenly I was in Paris with pocket money from the agency, which was about 50 euros a week, living in a model apartment with no food, no friends, no English – and it was a great time,” Sheik remembered.
Irina likes to be on the set, create something, communicate with people who make art. The model perceives her work as a small world where she and her colleagues feel safe. After the birth of her daughter Leah, Irina is forced to constantly find a balance between family and profession. Irina Shayk and Bradley Cooper refused the help of nannies and take care of the child on their own.
“We decided not to take a nanny and raise Leia ourselves. Being a mother is amazing. Before, I could not even imagine that I would love someone so much. I remember one day my daughter came home from kindergarten and she was like, “Oh, are you going to work? I want you to stay.” And she started crying, and I said, “Do you see that we have lights on in our house and we have food on the table? That’s why mom and dad have to go to work.” I want to raise a strong woman and teach her what my mother and grandmother taught me – that you need to work hard if you want to achieve something in life, ”the fashion model shared.
