The world-famous train, the Orient Express, departs from Amsterdam Central on June 24 for a two-day train journey to Venice. Amsterdammers who would like to participate have to deposit a considerable amount for it. A single ticket for two people costs more than six thousand euros.
The Orient Express has been to Amsterdam once before, but then it was a private charter. This time everyone (who can afford a ticket) can come along. The trip is announced at a time when the corona crisis is far from over. According to the company that runs the train, it is safe on board anyway.
Despite the pricey tickets, the company expects that there is enough enthusiasm for the tour, the site reports Treinreiziger.nl. On the way from Amsterdam to Venice, the Orient Express also stops in Brussels and Paris.
