ICU occupancy in Cali is 95% this Sunday, reported the Ministry of Health

This Sunday the occupancy level of Intensive Care units in Cali is 95%, according to the figures provided by the Municipal Health Secretariat.

“Of this percentage, 60% correspond to patients suspected or positive for covid-19. The remaining 35% are patients with other pathologies,” explained Miyerlandi Torres, in charge of the unit.

According to the official, the above means that some 499 people are in delicate health conditions due to the coronavirus.

Torres also referred to the number of cases located and the percentage of positivity that the city presents during which they consider the second peak of the pandemic.

“The average number of tests for covid-19 that were carried out in Cali in recent days ranges between 3,500 and 4,000 samples, with a percentage of positivity between 23 and 25%,” he indicated.

He also insisted on the call to the community about self-care and emphasized the importance of “preserving isolation and abiding by the regulatory measures decreed by the Mayor’s Office.”

Valle del Cauca reported 42 deaths from covid-19 this Saturday, according to the Ministry of Health. Of those cases, 21 correspond to Cali, the rest were registered in Palmira (9), Roldanillo (2), Cartago (2), Tuluá (2), El Dovio, La Unión, Buga, Trujillo, Yumbo and Obando.

In addition, they located 1,000 new infections in the department, which already has 146,281 cases.
