François Chih-Chung Wu was the guest of Europe Soir this Sunday at the microphone of Jeanne Baron. The representative of Taipei in France returned to the arrival for two days of six American officials in Taiwan and announced that several French senators will visit the island during the month of September.

Renewed tension at Taiwan. ten days later Nancy Pelosi’s visit which had spawned China’s large-scale military exercises around the island, six members of the delegation (members of Congress) arrived this Sunday in Taiwan for a surprise two-day visit. A visit that will inevitably rekindle tensions with China. But for the representative of Taipei in France, “it is China which is mounting the pressure and creating regional instability, by wanting to accelerate its process of conquest of Taiwan”.

“Show China that there is a red line not to cross”

Pour Francois Chih-Chung Wu, this American visit must make it possible to “show China that there is a red line not to be crossed”, but also to discuss with several Taiwanese ministers, as confirmed by the representative of Taipei in France. “All these negotiations and all the discussions to come must serve to preserve the status quo”, he assures on Europe 1.

But for all that, François Chih-Chung Wu wants to be extremely cautious, because he believes that around his island, there is with China “the second world military power which, in addition, wants to invade us”, so he believes that an invasion of the island would totally upset the “world order” and that it would trigger “a global disaster”, but he refuses to speak of World War III, due to European and global investments in China in Taiwan.

French senators will visit Taiwan in September

In addition to the visit of the American delegation, François Chih-Chung Wu announces that several other delegations, European this time, will go to the island. “We will also have Germans in October. The English will also come, normally, at the end of this year. There will also be, I can assure you, French senators who will come to visit us in of September”, he says this Sunday evening on Europe 1.
