And the Egyptian Dar Al-Iftaa answered, on its website, a question that reads: “What is the description of the legal dress for a Muslim woman?”, saying: “It is legally established that hijab is one of the legal duties, and it was commanded in the Holy Qur’an in the Almighty’s saying:) For the believers, they will be angry with their eyesight, and they are kept their promotions, and they do not appear, but their adornment, except for what appeared from them, and they are not. [النور: 31]And in the Almighty saying: “O Prophet, say to your wives, daughters, and the women of the believers, they are religiosity to them from their abstaining [الأحزاب: 59]، وفى حديث السيدة عَائِشَةَ رَضِى اللهُ عَنْهَا عند أبى داود وغيره: أَنَّ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتَ أَبِى بَكْرٍ رضى الله عنهما دَخَلَتْ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وآله وَسَلَّمَ وَعَلَيْهَا ثِيَابٌ رِقَاقٌ، فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وآله وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ: «يَا أَسْمَاء،ُ Indeed, when a woman reaches menstruation, it is not possible for her to see anyone but this and this.” He pointed to his face and may God bless him and grant him peace.

The Egyptian Dar Al-Iftaa concluded: “The legal attire required of a Muslim woman is any outfit that does not describe the charms of the body and does not reveal what is under it, and covers the whole body except for the face and hands, as well as the feet according to some scholars. If these conditions are fulfilled on any outfit, it is permissible for a Muslim woman to wear it and go out with it.”
