The Brussels Court of Appeal has just sentenced a Brussels sheep merchant to six months in prison. He also receives a permanent ban on keeping any animal. This is the famous case of the “recidivist from Haren” who illegally resold sheep as part of the festival of sacrifice, Aïd El Kebir. During the first judgment, pronounced in March 2021, he had taken “only” four months and was suspended.
