Edward Theuns, combative of the day on the Tour de France: “I’m happy with my performance” (video)

Edward Theuns rode a good part of the day ahead of Sunday in the 2nd stage of the Tour de France. The Belgian rider from Trek-Segafredo was part of the long-distance breakaway of the day of which he was the last survivor, he who was caught 18 km from the finish.

“We wanted someone from the team in the first two days, because we knew that if we could take the polka dot jersey, we could keep it for a good part of the first week,” said Edward Theuns. “I felt good today so I applied for the briefing this morning. On the first ascent, I made a mistake because I didn’t see where the line was. And in the last kilometers, I also fought to be named combative of the day. I’m happy with my performance ”.
