Paddleboarding in the middle of February: for a family of mountaineers who came on vacation to Juan-les-Pins (Alpes-Maritimes), the situation is unprecedented. “We are going to recharge the batteries, a little bit of iodine… We needed it”, says the woman. Others prefer to sunbathe on the terrace, taking advantage of the mild weather. “It’s true that we always have good weather. But this year, we had an exceptional month of January, with very little wind”reports a resident.

In the region, it has hardly rained for a month. Météo-France is concerned about this unusual winter drought. “It’s worrying, because at some point, will the weather change? Will the climates change? We don’t know at all”, confides Jean Jimenez, restaurateur at the Blue Ribbon. Many traders hope despite everything that the temperatures will be maintained for the next few weeks and will attract tourists, still few in number for the moment.
