Some of the artists of the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theaters in Moscow and St. Petersburg were quarantined for coronavirus. This was reported to RBC by sources close to the theaters.
According to the interlocutors, there is a large number of sick people in the troupe at the Mariinsky Theater. At the same time, rehearsals and performances were actively performed in the theater. From the message circulated among the ballet troupe of the Mariinsky, it follows that on August 8 most classes are canceled. Also canceled rehearsals of the play “Giselle” and all solo rehearsals. Artists who are not involved in performances are asked not to come to the theater.
According to information from sources close to the Bolshoi Theater, one artist fell ill with COVID-19, which is why 59 people (actors and pianists) were quarantined on the orders of Rospotrebnadzor. The theater itself has not yet opened, but there were active rehearsals.
As the press service of the Bolshoi Theater told RBC, the ballet dancer really fell ill. “We do not know its result yet. Everyone who contacted her also passed tests and are quarantined at home. And those who did not communicate with her are engaged in rehearsals, ”the theater said.
