In the Zhytomyr region, a 17-year-old boy froze to death in a field after returning home from a nearby village from friends. Law enforcement officers in the framework of criminal proceedings find out the circumstances of the death of a young man, reported in the police of the region.

The police received a message about the death of the young man early in the morning of February 19 from doctors.

“The police found that the deceased was an orphan and was under the official guardianship of his aunt. He was in the final grade of a comprehensive school. According to preliminary information, at about 15:00 on February 18, the young man told his aunt that he was leaving for a neighboring village to visit friends and promised to return in the evening home. However, he never showed up, “the police said in a statement.

It turned out that the young man was returning home with a 13-year-old fellow villager. They walked across a snowy field. Suddenly the elder felt ill. The younger one rushed to help, but could not do anything and ran home, where he told about the incident to his friend’s guardians.

“The guy was found helpless and with severe frostbite among the snow drifts. They brought him home by car and called an ambulance, but he died before the doctors arrived,” the police said.

Now the cause of death of the young man is being established by forensic experts.
