India: the gap widens between government and social media

War seems to be declared between social media and the Indian government. In recent days, illustrations of the heightened tension between Silicon Valley giants, such as Twitter or WhatsApp, and Indian authorities have continued to multiply, after the entry into force of new regulations aimed at prevent “abuse and misuse of social networks” and which requires the removal of content.

The blows really started to rain on May 24th. That day, the police suddenly arrived at the premises of Twitter India. The images go around televisions. If the police take the trouble to go there, it is only to notify the opening of an investigation.
