industrial exports up 21.9% in the first quarter

In the first quarter of the current year, Tunisian industrial exports increased in value for an envelope of 12.2 billion dinars (one dinar is worth 0.32 dollar), an increase of 21.9% compared to the same period of the previous year, the Agency for the Promotion of Industry and Innovation (APII) revealed on Sunday.

According to a quarterly APII bulletin, sales of the majority of industrial sectors abroad were on the rise, particularly in the mechanical and electrical industries, which rose by 13.3% for revenues of 5,896.9 billion. dinars, against 5,204.7 billion dinars in the first quarter of 2021.

On the textile-clothing side, the balance sheet shows a springboard of 17.8%, for an overall envelope of 2.2 billion dinars, against 1.9 billion dinars in the same period of last year. Exports of the agri-food industry increased by 28.8% for revenues exceeding 1.283 billion dinars, against 996 million dinars in 2021.

As for exports of the leather and footwear industry, revenue reached nearly 497 million dinars, compared to 361.2 million dinars at the end of the first quarter of 2021.
