Influenza Vaccine… A Statement by “Health”

The Ministry of Public Health announced in a statement, “After receiving information about the spread of influenza in the schools of the Hermel district, it conducted field investigations in these schools and the required laboratory tests, and it was found that the cases that are registered are the result of the seasonal influenza that began in Lebanon several weeks ago in the period of time.” Usually expected for this season. The Ministry will continue to follow up on the epidemiological indicators of influenza on a weekly basis, reminding that the symptoms include fever and acute respiratory symptoms such as coughing, sore throat and muscle pain, and sometimes vomiting and diarrhea.

In this context, the ministry wished on the media and social media to “be careful and cautious in disseminating health information, and to follow up on the epidemiological bulletins issued by the ministry in this regard.”

On the other hand, the ministry announced the arrival of the influenza vaccine to Lebanon, where the ministry was keen to provide it at a subsidized price of 24,000 Lebanese pounds. It can be obtained from pharmacies at the mentioned price.

She stressed, “The need for those who are more likely to suffer from complications to get the vaccine, and they are: young and old, people with chronic diseases, pregnant women and health workers, should not delay.”

The Ministry also recalled the need to prevent Covid, influenza and acute respiratory diseases through adherence to the muzzle and social distancing, and frequent washing of hands with soap and water, especially after coughing / sneezing, and after touching contaminated surfaces and tools, adopting the etiquette of coughing and sneezing, and home isolation until the symptoms end, as well as Avoid contact with people with acute respiratory symptoms.
