Vienna (OTS) – The Interior Minister speaks on the day before the Council of EU Interior Ministers in Luxembourg Gerhard Karner (ÖVP) at “Milborn“ on PULS 24 (broadcast 21:15) about his demands. He assumes “that asylum procedures will come at the external borders, the negotiations are going in this direction.” In addition, following the Danish and British example, he calls for the possibility of being able to carry out asylum procedures outside of Europe: “The issue of asylum procedures in safe third countries is a Model that the Danes are planning and I say, let’s give the European member states the opportunity to do the same, as Denmark is planning according to appropriate human rights standards.” Karner also wants deportations to Syria and Afghanistan.
