Of course the last generation is annoying, that’s their goal. People are stuck in traffic jams when activists stick themselves together or when, like recently, they even cement themselves onto highways. But to harass them with criminal sanctions would be a historic mistake. One thing is clear: the legal assessment of whether the “climate gluers” need to be charged with this offense rests solely with the public prosecutor’s office. It decides independently on the basis of the law. But there are good reasons to hope that the proceedings will be discontinued.
