IO Interactive, the studio behind the games Hitman, a ad a major partnership with MGM, EON Productions and Delphi in order to deliver a new James Bond game.
Currently known as Project 007, this production will focus on how the world’s most famous secret agent started his career. IO Interactive’s Glacier game engine will be used to create stunning visual effects for “modern platforms and systems”.
“It is true that on occasion, the stars align in our industry,” commented IO Interactive President Hakan Abrak. “Creating a new Bond game is a monumental undertaking and I firmly believe that IO Interactive, working closely with our creative partners EON and MGM, will be able to deliver something truly special for our players and our communities. Our passionate team is excited to unleash their creativity with the iconic James Bond universe and shape the most ambitious game in the history of our studio ”.
The last game based on the James Bond license was released in 2012 with 007 Legends. Since the Activision era, no one had touched this license. The release of the film No Time to Die scheduled for April 2021 after a significant delay related to COVID-19 could precisely awaken the idea of diving back into a quality game. Who does not remember Goldeneye 64?
