The updates contain a critical fix for WebKit, which is the engine that powers Apple’s Safari browser.
To everyone’s surprise, Apple has just released several new updates for its various operating systems. Surprise versions whose main objective is to correct various security problems. Apple’s memo says “this update provides important security updates and is recommended for all users.”
iOS 14.4.1, iPadOS 14.4.1, macOS 11.2.3 and watchOS 7.3.2 are therefore available to all users. The American company obviously advises its users to download them quickly. In addition to addressing security concerns, the various updates bring improvements in terms of performance and stability.
The main problem corrected by these versions is with WebKit. Malicious people could attempt to exploit a memory flaw by executing code remotely.
To install the update on iPhone / iPad, go to your device’s settings, Settings> General> Software update option. On Mac, go to System Preferences in the Apple menu, then on Software Update. Finally, for Apple Watch, select the Watch app on your iPhone> My Watch> General and finally Software Update.
