Ironman Hawaii: This is how you can watch the triathlon live on TV and in the live stream
The Ironman Hawaii starts from October 6th to 8th, 2022. Next to Patrick Lange are also Sebastian Kienle, Maurice Clavel and Andreas Dreitz at the start. Unfortunately, two-time winner Jan Frodeno cannot start due to an injury (hip inflammation). “It hurts my soul,” explains Frodeno in the “world”.
After the Covid-19 break in 2020 and 2021, 2022 will see two races in one year for the first time in Ironman history. The victories at the Ironman 2022 in Utah won Olympic champions Kristian Blummenfelt from Norway and the Swiss serial winner Daniel Ryf.
Triathlon fans can watch the men’s and women’s pro race in the ZDF-Livestream just like “Ironmannow.com“ live on TV and livestream.
The women’s race takes place on October 6 (Thursday) from 18:25 (CET). The men’s professional race starts on October 8 (Saturday) at 6:25 p.m. You can do the Ironman Hawaii in the ZDF-Livestream pursue. The transmission begins at 6:10 p.m. each day.
Martin Schneider will comment on the women’s race on ZDF. At his side is triathlon expert Nicole Leder. Florian Zschiedrich will be the moderator. In the men’s race on Saturday, Daniel Unger will comment as an expert alongside Martin Schneider.

The men’s pro race has 51 triathletes on the starting list for the October 8 race. Top favorite is Olympic champion Kristian Blummenfelt. “It’s time for a Norwegian to win the Ironman in Hawaii,” said the 28-year-old.
Patrick Lange, Sebastian Kienle, Andreas Dreitz, Maurice Clavel and Florian Angert start for Germany. With Paul Schuster, a German athlete falls out. While training in Texas, he broke his hand after a collision with a car.

Ironman Hawaii: women’s start list (professionals)
World champion and five-time Ironman winner Daniela Ryf from Switzerland is the top favorite in the women’s professional race. The number will not be assigned because Katrina Matthews was seriously injured in a cycling accident during training.
As the winner of the Ironman Hawaii 2019, Anne Haug is automatically qualified for the triathlon in Hawaii 2022. “Hawaii suits me,” says Haug.

Ironman Hawaii: distance and route
The Ironman Hawaii starts on the well-known routes. The triathletes have to swim 3.86 km in the open sea, bike 180.2 km and run 42.195 km. The route goes from the east side of Kailua Pier along the coast. In total, all participants have to climb 1,772 meters before the winners are crowned on Alii Drive.
The Ironman Hawaii is the oldest long-distance triathlon. The first competition took place in 1978. This year the competition will be held over two days for the first time. The equalization is intended to enable a large number of athletes who have not been able to participate in the last two years due to cancellation and postponement.
