“It is an injustice that Luis Feito died without the Velázquez award”

Luis was, is, and will always be, a human being and an unrepeatable artist; a good person, with a lot of genius and character, like any good artist. He knew how to create his own stamp in art: when you see a work by Luis Feito, you know immediately that it is his. I have been one of the very few people that I have seen him working in his studio. Sometimes he liked to paint in silence; other times he played music. He liked classical music, zarzuela and copla. Admirer of Velázquez, Goya, Gris and Sorolla, he was a man highly cultured, knew everything. He was also an excellent conversationalist. I jokingly told him that he must have been an announcer.

As an artist I believe
