Serbian Ivana Spanovic, two-time European indoor long jump champion, forfeited the European Championships in Torun (Poland) from March 4 to 7, due to a hamstring injury. The 30-year-old athlete was injured in training, Serbian State Television (RTS) Edin Zukovic, the manager of the Serbian national team, told Serbian national team. She will now focus on preparing for the Olympic Games in Tokyo in Japan (July 23-August 8). Spanovic returned to competition in January after a 16-month long hiatus from a metatarsal injury.
