Jalen Green Helps Renovate Basketball Court in Houston

Jalen Green has made a name for himself this week. The #2 pick of the 2021 Draft has indeed partnered with the municipality of Houston as well as its sponsor Adidas to provide new basketball equipment to young people in the city. An excellent initiative that is part of the fine tradition of NBA players who use their notoriety to serve the community.

Beyond his image as a somewhat biting soloist on the court, Jalen Green demonstrates above all through his actions for the people of Houston that he is a young man with a big heart. Three weeks after volunteering his time to organize a big meal on the occasion of Thanksgivingthanks to which he was able to come to the aid of several young people in difficulty in the Texan city, the California native once again distinguished himself by his altruism and his sense of citizenship, Brian Barefield of Yahoo Sports. Accompanied by the Mayor of Houston Travis Scott Sylvester Turner, the young fullback has teamed up with the municipal organization Houston Parks and Recreation as well as the brand with the three stripes, his personal sponsor, to renovate the orange ball fields Brewster Park, in the Fifth Ward district. Asked during the inauguration, the sophomore was obviously delighted to be able to help the young people of the city.

“Seeing the children’s faces afterwards, seeing their smiles, their reactions, is good. They see me, they see what is built. That’s the best part for me.”

Young basketball enthusiasts in the neighborhood will now be able to have fun with new courts and baskets, all illuminated by new lighting.

Jalen Green is neither the first nor, we hope, the last player to get involved in a concrete way with the community of his city. However, it’s nice to see acclaimed stars every night on the court to make themselves available to help those most in need.
