In her own tweets, the actress and activist drew attention to her struggles with Ehlers Danlos – an invisible disease affecting the skin, joints and blood vessels – after she was accused by people on the Internet of having Munchausen syndrome. Now Blake explains that he saw her pain.
“I am there because of their swollen joints, their luxations, their severe allergic reactions and their constantly high fever. I was there for their concussion, three-month seizures, and all of their surgeries and complications from EDS, ”Blake wrote. “I can feel the lumps in her back from the car accident and see all the scars. I am there when she rejects amazing job opportunities because of her health restrictions. I actually live with her. “
Blake recognized Jamil’s privilege, which she often does herself and how she uses it to raise other people and concerns. However, he discussed the role that the same privilege can play in covering up her illness. “Her attractiveness, size, and success didn’t mean she wasn’t sick,” he wrote.
Many people in the answers referred to the struggle for an invisible disease like Jamil. Some even praised Blake for raising awareness and being a supportive partner.
Invisible diseases like EDS or ME / CFS are devastating and those who suffer from it have to resign themselves with so much unnecessary ridiculousness to people who have no idea what they are talking about. Thank you for the sensitization, may all beings with illness experience wellness.

I don’t think people recognize the energy it takes to get out of bed for a few days, travel no matter, and have a successful career. She absolutely smashed it and I’m sorry you both have to go through this. 💜

You’re unbelievable. It is too. With #EDS or any invisible illness with a partner / caregiver who sees these very real and debilitating symptoms and problems, understands and does not put pressure on, belittles or does not believe makes YOU a true hero. Please make sure that you also receive care and support. 🙏💜

Despite the love and support for Jamil in the past few days, Blake made it clear that he hadn’t written anything before because she didn’t want to. Now it seemed too serious to be ready.
“You don’t know this woman … you don’t know what her life is and how it was. But I do and I won’t be ready and let some completely strangers try to push my girlfriend over the edge,” he wrote “It’s sick to see.”
Jamil replied to Blake’s feeling by calling him “her best friend” and “greatest love”.
