Jean-Luc Lahaye case: the singer’s daughter indicted for “tampering with witnesses”

Jean-Luc Lahaye’s daughter, Margaux Lahaye, was indicted on Monday evening for “witness tampering” and placed under judicial control, according to our information, confirming those of BFMTV. She is suspected of having pressured one of the two complainants against her father, Roxane (first name changed), and of having manipulated her into exonerating her father during a previous judicial inquiry.

At the time, justice had been alerted by Facebook to virtual pornographic exchanges between Roxane, who was then only 14 to 16 years old, and Jean-Luc Lahaye. Heard by the police, the teenager claimed that she had sent scabrous photos of her to her idol on her own initiative and that she had harassed him to answer her.

Ignoring her real sexual relations with Jean-Luc Lahaye, she had not filed a complaint and had on the contrary praised her romantic feelings for the artist, including in the tabloids. The artist was then convicted for the sole count of corruption of a minor in 2015. The mothers of the two ex-fans who accuse the singer of rape also risk being indicted for “witness tampering” and “non-denunciation of crime” in this sordid business. The two women are summoned by the investigating judge for an indictment, this time for “failure to report a crime”: Roxane’s mother on Wednesday January 26, and that of the second complainant, Émeline (first name modified), on Thursday 27.

A daughter very active in defending her father

Aged 23 today, Roxane describes the singer’s eldest daughter as very active in defending her father at this time, sometimes threatening her and her family to clear Jean-Luc Lahaye, sometimes manipulative by making him believe that the singer has feelings for her. Margaux Lahaye would also have acted as an intermediary when the singer was prohibited from contacting the teenager, and would have urged him to use a secure application to allow them to continue to see each other. According to Roxane, she even organized a secret meeting in the Bois de Boulogne so that her father could intimidate the teenager at a time when she was tempted to reveal the truth at trial.

During the search of Margaux Lahaye’s Parisian home in November, the investigators got their hands on an email dated 2014 from the singer’s daughter to Roxane in which she gave him instructions on what to say to the policemen. In police custody, Margaux Lahaye admitted that she had contacted the complainant at the time, but only at the request of her father. She says she, too, was manipulated by the singer, who would have sworn to her that her relationship with Roxane was exclusively virtual. Claiming to have been the victim of pressure, she also denies being the author of all the messages sent to Roxane, her father having taken to using his account to communicate with the teenager.
