Joaquin Ramirez will be proclaimed mayor of Cajamarca after the National Election Jury (JNE) declared founded the appeal made by the representative of the Cajamarca Siempre Verde movement, for their exclusion from the Regional and Municipal Elections 2022 which took place on the last Sunday, October 2.

With this, the superior court decided to revoke the appeal for annulment that Joaquín Ramírez had obtained on August 3 by Judge Williams Ventura Padilla of the Third Civil Court of Cajamarca against the amparo action presented by the militants of the Cajamarcan movement.
Despite this, the businessman and ex-Fujimorista financier participated in the last elections where he obtained greater electoral preference. This earned him to appeal the resolution of the Civil Court that left him out of the electoral race.

The appeal filed by Joaquín Ramírez It was reviewed this Sunday by the National Elections Jury. The measure had nine votes in favor and one against; however, the applicant still cannot be declared mayor of Cajamarca because the Special Electoral Jury (JEE) 15 minutes of the last election have not yet been resolved.
“The entity has already ruled with what it declares that Joaquín Ramírez’s appeal was based on the resolution of the Judicial Power (the Permanent Civil Chamber of the Superior Court of Cajamarca) that declared his participation null,” said Walter Huamán, legal defender by Joaquin Ramirez.
“There are 15 acts that are observed and that have to be resolved so that the ONPE provides its credential and declares him mayor,” his lawyer advanced.
