“Kaamelott – First part”: a (long) wait that was worth it

Alexandre Astier delivers the rest of his interpretation of the Arthurian legend with all the verve we know him.

No question of revealing the plot, if not to say that Kaamelott – First part is interested in the return of Arthur (Alexandre Astier), decided to reconquer his throne from the hands of Lancelot (Thomas Cousseau), who allied himself with Saxon mercenaries to bring order to the kingdom of Logres.

We discover several new characters, brilliantly embodied by Guillaume Gallienne or Sting. Fans of the series with several hundred episodes will also be delighted to find Christian Clavier, Lionnel Astier, Antoine de Caunes, Alain Chabat, Géraldine Nakache and many others.

This Kaamelott – First part is therefore not just an adaptation of the very popular television series, it is definitely a feature film intended for the big screen. The sets are stunning, the sumptuous costumes and accessories add an appreciable level of detail. By adding a series of “flashbacks” to Arthur’s childhood, Alexandre Astier also makes sure to give extra depth to his character, with his still deadpan humor.

Mixture of genres – humor, comedy, adventure film, “fantasy”, parody -, Kaamelott – First part teeming with jokes, gags, innuendo, reading levels. Like the series, the two-hour film will satisfy fans of this crazy universe, which never goes easy.

What if this First part cleverly closes certain intrigues left in suspense by the series, it opens others which allow to hope, if the success at the counters is at the rendezvous, a second part just as pleasant.
