Kafr El-Sheikh Health: Providing medical services to 34306 pregnant women within the maternal and fetal health initiative

Dr. Sawsan Salam, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Kafr El-Sheikh, confirmed, on Wednesday, that the medical teams based on the implementation of the presidential initiative to support maternal and fetal health have provided medical services to 34,306 pregnant women since the beginning of the initiative.

The Undersecretary indicated that the initiative aims to reach a generation of children who are healthy and free of diseases transmitted from the mother to the fetus, and to reduce deaths caused by these diseases, as it targets pregnant women from the first day of pregnancy until birth, for early detection of various infectious diseases. Transmitted from the mother to the fetus and all diseases that may affect the health of the fetus to prevent its transmission.

Sawsan said that pregnant women are diagnosed with diabetes and blood pressure, and follow-up and treatment services are provided through medical centers and health units in the governorate, and those who are discovered to be infected are directed and referred to receive the necessary evaluation and treatment at specific referral hospitals in the governorate, according to the type of disease the mother has, in addition to activating and improving the quality Routine services provided within the protocol for the care of pregnant women.
