After the two fighters had some problems during the weigh-in window with the special masks provided by the UFC sponsor (see the video below), they took the stage to face them both wearing the pieces. Durinho, who challenges Usman for the welterweight belt, took off his mask to face the Nigerian and showed a lot of energy in his eyes. The champion did not back down. After finally getting tired of looking at each other, the two friends didn’t even greet each other before leaving the stage.

Champion Kamaru Usman was soon the sixth fighter to weigh in. However, he gave a little fright when weighing himself with a more elaborate mask to satisfy the UFC sponsor, and the prop ended up leaving him 0.5 pounds (about 227g) above the limit value of the welterweight. He took off his mask, climbed back on the scale and reached the contracted 77.1 kg.

Durinho came up with about 30 minutes of window and was smarter: he got on the scale with the already traditional bandana stamped with the Brazilian flag on his head and with a cloth mask from UFC. He hit 77.1kg and only then put on the sponsor’s mask. Or at least tried: the Brazilian wrapped himself with the many handles of the prop and, after a few attempts, ended up giving up wearing the mask and posed with it hanging around his neck.

Two Brazilians were among the fighters who climbed the scales in the first 20 minutes of the window: Polyana Viana, who hit 52.6kg, in the flyweight tolerance limit, for the fight against Mallory Martin, and Dhiego Lima, who also stayed in the limit for fights that are not worth a belt in your category, welterweight, with 77.6 kg. Both Martin (52.4 kg) and Dhiego’s opponent, Belal Muhammad (76.9 kg), were lighter than their Brazilian opponents.

Rodolfo Vieira was the last Brazilian to weigh himself. He appeared with about 40 minutes of weight and scored 84.4 kg, within the tolerance limit of the middleweight. His opponent, Anthony Hernandez, reached the same weight. Another middleweight, Julian Marquez, drew attention when he left the scales: he lifted two packages from the official UFC game and shouted that he would raffle the game among his Instagram followers.

Bobby Green was the last fighter to weigh himself, in the final stretch of the weigh-in, and hit 70.8kg, within the tolerance limit for light weight fights without the title at stake. However, he and Jim Miller did not take the stage for the stare; according to Dana White, Green passed out backstage after weighing himself. He did not confirm whether the fight was still on the card or had been canceled.
