A 32-year-old man was sentenced to 19 years in prison for killing a thief who broke into his house. Carl Townsend was sentenced by the UK’s Liverpool Crown Court. Last year, on October 29, Karl Moshtavin was killed. Jordan Brophy, 31, was killed. The incident happened outside a house in Halewood, Merseyside.

On the day of the incident, Carl had gone to meet his parents at their house at 6:30. Carl’s girlfriend, Amelia Rigby, was out walking their three-year-old daughter and dog at the time. In the meantime, Jordan and three other people who were killed came to Carl’s house in cars. Realizing that no one was home, the thieves broke the back door and entered the house.

Meanwhile, Carl saw the presence of the thieves through the camera placed near the door of the house. Carl returned home with a knife to fight off the burglars. It was during the confrontation with them that Carl Jordan was stabbed to death. A portion of Carl’s knife penetrated Jordan’s skull, but Carl’s anger was not contained. After stabbing him several times, he plunged the knife into Jordan’s neck and Carl regained his composure.

Jordan begged to be let go while Carl was stabbing him. The son was working at Jaguar Land Rover. But Jordan’s mother says her son lost his way after losing his job. The mother also said that her son had mental problems.

Jordan was unarmed at the time of the murder. Therefore, the court stated that the violence cannot be justified. The court said that even though what Jordan did was wrong, no one is allowed to take someone’s life.
