Wayanad: Banasurasagar dam opened. Banasura Sagar Dam was opened after the water level crossed the upper rule level. The water level was 2539 feet. . Meanwhile, the Central Meteorological Department has announced that heavy rain will continue in the state. Yellow alert has been announced in Kottayam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts. A strong low pressure has formed over northwest Bay of Bengal. This is likely to be severe hypotension.
