Wayanad: Banasurasagar dam opened. Banasura Sagar Dam was opened after the water level crossed the upper rule level. The water level was 2539 feet. . Meanwhile, water levels are rising in Idukki and Mullaperiyar dams despite opening the shutters. The water level in Idukki dam has risen to 2385 feet. Three shutters of Deem were opened yesterday. The water level in Mullaperiyar Dam reached 138.75 feet. The water flow is 12,667 cubic feet per second. 3,535 cubic feet of water flows through ten shutters in the senecant.

Meanwhile, the Central Meteorological Department has announced that heavy rain will continue in the state. Yellow alert has been announced in Kottayam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts. A strong low pressure has formed over northwest Bay of Bengal. This is likely to be severe hypotension.

The Central Meteorological Department has informed that there is a possibility of isolated heavy rain in Kerala till 11. Isolated heavy rains are predicted in the yellow alert districts. Heavy rains mean rainfall of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm in 24 hours.
