According to royal insiders, the Duchess of Sussex’s decision to stay close to London while Prince Harry traveled to Balmoral was made by king charles iii.
Royal commentator Cameron Walker told the Daily Express the move sparked a “discussion” among members of the royal family and suggested the fallout led to delays in specially organized plane flights to Scotland.

Looking visibly somber, Prince Harry was seen walking through the gates of Balmoral Castle alone, two hours after the public announcement of the queen’s death was made.
Prince William, along with the queen’s four children, arrived a few hours before Prince Harry after a public statement said doctors were “concerned” about the monarch’s health.
