Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on social media discussions on space exploration and Russia’s successes and failures in this direction. According to him, Russians’ expectations of “breakthroughs and sensations” in space are understandable, but people should understand that “titanic work is being done.”
“The reaction on social networks is far from a qualified reaction,” Peskov added.
He pointed out that most of those who participate in Internet discussions “do not have professional data.”
Earlier, the head of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin ridiculed the publication of the first images of Mars, taken by the American rover Perseverance. He published a collage overlaying his own image. The caption read: “The first thing the Americans saw on Mars.” The tweet was soon deleted.
