Kannur: Congress leader KV Thomas arrived in Kannur to attend a seminar related to the CPM party congress. KV Thomas was received by CPM District Secretary MV Jayarajan. KV Thomas was received with a red shawl. He said he would say what he had to say at the seminar venue. Opposition leader VD Satheesan has said that discussions are underway at the CPM Party Congress in Kannur to help the BJP defeat the Congress. The CPM faction in Kerala is pressuring the central leadership to take a stand that it will not compromise with the Congress for any reason. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not allow the Silver Line if he stands by the Congress. Therefore, there is an understanding between the CPM leadership in Kerala and the BJP-Sangha Parivar leadership at the Center that they will not make peace with the Congress, Satheesan said in Kottayam.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has assured the central BJP leadership that there will be no decision at the party congress in Kerala to isolate the BJP at the national level and unite the Congress and the Left parties. The descendants of the old CPM leaders who were of the view that the Congress should be defeated by any devil are those who want the BJP to win even if the Congress collapses. The party congress has only become an anti-Congress convention.
