Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Sep 25 (EFE) .- La Palma airport is inoperative due to ash accumulation, AENA has reported, indicating that it has begun cleaning, although the situation may change at any time.
SENA informs that the rest of the airports in the Canary Islands are operational, although it recommends that travelers check with their airlines the status of their flight.
“The priority is to guarantee the safety of operations,” said the airport manager.
For its part, the Canarian airline Binter has resumed its flight schedule with the island of La Gomera and with the Tenerife North and South airports, given the improvement in flight conditions due to the recent behavior of the ash cloud, but it keeps flights to and from La Palma stopped.
The company has proceeded to reactivate operations in La Gomera and Tenerife, which it had interrupted on Friday afternoon, once the conditions for safe flights are met again.
