Lancia has announced a development plan for the coming years, although its main points have been unofficially identified yet. last summer and have not changed much since then. Recall that now Lancia is a sad sight: only a middle-aged hatchback is produced under this brand. Ypsilonwhich is sold only in Italy. Although the sales volume is the envy of many modern classmates: last year, Lancia Ypsilon sold 44,000 copies.

So, in the global strategy of the Stellantis concern, the Lancia brand, together with the DS and Alfa Romeo brands, forms a premium division. The strategy includes three new models, with the new-generation Lancia Ypsilon being the first to appear in 2024, a hatchback about four meters long, with only hybrid and electric versions planned. Moreover, this will be the last Lancia with an internal combustion engine: all subsequent models are planned only electric, and the hybrid will only last until 2028.

In 2026, the Lancia Aurelia will appear with a length of 4.6 m. The company has not used this historical name since 1958! But if then Aurelia were stylish cars (including convertibles), now, according to preliminary information, a crossover is being prepared, which will become the flagship of the brand. And the revival of the Lancia Delta hatchback is scheduled for 2028. The 4.4m-long car is said to have a muscular design, so styling of the very first Delta from the seventies is not ruled out.

The design of future Lancia models will be handled personally by the chief designer of the European part of the Stellantis alliance, Jean-Pierre Plouet, who previously headed the design department of the PSA group since 2009. For future cars, a wide use of recycled materials is promised, including for interior trim. And a certain assistant called SALA (Sound Air Light Augmented) has also been announced: this is an integrated microclimate control system, sound and light in the cabin, which is activated with one button.

With new models, Lancia will once again go beyond its native Italy. Sales in other countries were curtailed in 2014-2015, but now it is planned to open 100 dealerships in 60 cities in Europe. Priority is given to France, Germany, Spain, Belgium and the Netherlands. Although half of the sales will be done online.
