Lavarini coaches Poland, host country of the World Volleyball Championship


Stefano Lavarini (43, Italy), manager, will take charge of the 12th-ranked Polish national team in the women’s volleyball world rankings. After leading Korea to 4th place at the Tokyo Olympics, Lavarini came to find the national team to lead next.
On the 13th (Korean time), the Polish Volleyball Association announced that Lavarini, who received more than half of the votes in favor of the board of directors, was appointed as the new head coach of the women’s national team. Other finalists, such as Daniele Santarelli (41), Alessandro Chiafini (53, Italy), and Stefan Antiga (46, France), were eliminated.
Although Poland has the second highest level of women’s league in Europe after Turkey-Italy-Russia, in 2008, they placed ninth in their last Olympic final. He is earnestly wishing to restore his honor at the 2022 World Championships (September 23 – October 15), which he participates as a co-host.

Coach Lavarini led Minas (Brazil) to the runners-up of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) Club World Championship in 2018. In the 2020-21 season, Novara (Italy) led the European Volleyball Federation (CEV) Champions League semi-finals and Korea to the quarterfinals of the Tokyo Olympics, raising their status even further.
In 1995, at the age of 16, Lavarini began her career as a coach in the Italian Serie B1 (third division) Omena as a coach, but her career as a national team coach was only as an Italian U-19 coach from 2008 to 2009.
Lavarini is the head coach of the Polish national team, beating out Santa Deli, who led Croatia to the gold medal in women’s volleyball at the 2018 Mediterranean Games; Kiafini, who led Turkey to the 2017 U-23 Women’s World Championship; was chosen as It goes without saying that leading Korea to the semi-finals of the Tokyo Olympics was a big help.
