Lawsuits in all 16 countries: retailers want to tip closings

DGermany’s retailers are increasingly resisting the state-ordered shop closings. A number of companies have recently filed a lawsuit. Breuninger, for example. The fashion retail chain from Stuttgart has submitted an urgent application to the administrative court of Baden-Württemberg to open its department stores – but without success. The Mannheim judges decided in a fast-track procedure that the restrictions are still proportionate.

The judiciary across the republic has to deal intensively with the local legal situation. A Frankfurt law firm is taking action against the closings on behalf of hundreds of clients in all 16 federal states.
