On the 5th, the Standing National Committee of the People’s Power decided that the current situation of the party was ’emergency’ on the grounds of ‘the loss of function of the Supreme Council’. As a result, the establishment of the emergency response committee of the ruling party was formalized. In addition, the Standing National Committee passed a bill to amend the Party Constitution to allow the acting party representative to appoint a non-chairman.
Rep. Seo Byung-soo, who chaired the National Committee, met with reporters after the 4th Standing National Committee meeting held at the National Assembly on the same day and said, “I have given the authoritative interpretation that the current situation of the party corresponds to an emergency situation.” To the question of ‘what is the basis for an emergency situation?’, he replied, “The Supreme Council’s loss of function.”
According to Chairman Suh, at the meeting, which was attended by 40 out of a total of 54, dealt with ‘voting for adoption of the amendment to the Party Constitution’ as well as ‘voting for the adoption of an amendment to the Party Constitution’ and ‘agenda to convene a national committee’.
The Standing National Committee adopted the highest resolution allowing the acting party representative to appoint the non-commissioned chairperson. Rep. Jo Hae-jin and Ha Tae-kyung, who are classified as ‘non-yun’, proposed an amendment to the Party Constitution that stipulates the period of non-captain at the time of the party’s return to duties in the event of an ‘accident’ the previous day, but this was in vain.
Rep. Seo even officially formalized the dismissal of Chairman Lee when he switched to the non-captain system. He said, “In accordance with the party constitution and party rules, there is a provision that the leadership of the Supreme Committee will be dissolved immediately when a non-commissioned member is formed, and the non-commissioned chairperson has the authority to represent the party,” he said.
“Even if you are currently working, the position of the party representative will disappear as soon as the supreme committee is dissolved if the non-captain is formed,” he said.
Chairman Seo pointed out that the chairman of the blitz was “heard through rumors” and “five-term mid-level promotion.”
The National Committee to be held on the 9th will handle the amendment to the Party Constitution adopted by the Standing National Committee on the same day. Voting will be conducted in the ARS method.
