Lenovo announces four new versions of its 16-inch gaming laptop. The Lenovo Legion 7 and 7i offer the best performance without compromise, while the Legion 7 Slim and 7i Slim are thinner and more mobile versions.

Lenovo finally decided to wait the announcement of the Intel AlderLake-HX processors to present its new 16-inch chassis, the Legion 7, in four versions: AMD or Intel/Nvidia, Slim or not.

The Lenovo Legion 7 are all structured around the same slab size – 16 inches – in the 16:10 format displaying 2560 x 1600 px or 1920 x 1200 px, depending on the version. The Legion 7i and 7 are designed to deliver the best performance. Thus, the Legion 7i is equipped with an Intel Core i9-12900HX or Core i7-12800HX processor associated – depending on the version – with an Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti (125 W) or 3080 Ti (175W) graphics card. Two IPS panels displaying 2560 x 1600 px are available, as well as a G-Sync panel that can reach 240 Hz and a 165 Hz panel.

The Legion 7 is a version fully equipped with AMD. The processor is therefore a Ryzen 7 6800H or Ryzen 9 6900HX which will be accompanied, depending on the version, by a Radeon RX 6850 XT or RX 6700M. And it is therefore logically a FreeSync panel displaying 2560 x 1600 px at 240 Hz which is proposed.

The connection is more than complete, with Thunderbolt 4 for the Intel version and USB-C supporting USB4.0 for AMD. Note a USB-C port supporting Power Delivery charging up to 135 W, convenient for recharging the 99.99 Wh battery without having to lug around the 300 W charger. 6E wifi, a 2.5G RJ45 port and a Full HD webcam completes the picture. The dimensions are 35.8 x 26.3 cm for just 1.9 cm thick and weigh less than 2.5 kg.

Slim versions, thinner and almost without compromise

If you’re looking for a model that offers the same comfort, but with more portability without making very big compromises in performance, Lenovo also has a model for you: the Legion 7 Slim and 7i Slim.

The Legion 7i Slim is therefore equipped with an Intel AlderLake-H from Core i5 to Core i9, depending on the version, which will be accompanied by a GeForce RTX 3050, 3060 or 3070 Max-Q. On the screen side, the Slim models include the panels listed above, with an optional Mini-LED panel that can reach 1250 cd / m² in peak HDR only for the Legion 7i Slim. The Legion 7 Slim do not benefit from this option, we will console ourselves with AMD Ryzen 6000-H processors which are accompanied by Radeon RX 6600S or 6800S, as desired.

Just like the Legion 7, the Slim version supports Power Delivery charging up to 135W, but a 170 or 230W charger is supplied to top up the 71Wh battery, or optional 99.99Wh.

Again, Thunderbolt 4 or USB-C make up the connection with HDMI 2.1 and wifi 6E, and only the 2.5G RJ45 port disappears. The Slim versions measure 35.7 x 25.6 cm for just under 1.7 cm thick and 2 kg on the scale.

All Legion 7s will be available early this summer for €1299 for the 7 Slim, €1999 for the 7i Slimi, €2599 for the Legion 7 and €2999 for the Legion 7i.
