The works of young artists are exhibited at Dadaepo Hongti Art Village.
Hongti Art Village and Hongtikti will hold the solo exhibitions of Min-ki Kang and Min-ji Jo as the fourth exhibition of the 2022 exhibition space support project. In addition, as the third exhibition of the exhibition to discover young artists, the works of artists Jeon Hye-jin and Kim Hye-jin will be introduced.
Hongti Art Village is located in Dadae-dong, Saha-gu, Busan. It is a place to revitalize local art and expand opportunities for local residents to enjoy culture and art by providing exhibition space to resident artists and young artists. These two exhibitions will run until November 26th.
In the October 2022 exhibition space support project, ‘Unlinked’ by Min-ki Kang and ‘confident step’ by Min-ji Jo will be exhibited in the exhibition spaces on the 1st and 2nd floors of Hongti Art Village, respectively. Artist Minki Kang works with a series of themes such as war, pandemic, economic crisis, and global warming. It is an installation work that expresses that an event is swallowed up or dispersed in a structure and made ambiguous noises. In the works of artist Minji Jo, who majored in Korean painting, fictional characters ‘D’, ‘Anyone’, and ‘Goblin’ appear. It is a work that establishes and completes itself in large and small episodes in which characters appear.
In October, the exhibition of Young Artist Excavation Project, ‘Mirror Mirror’ by Jeon Hye-jin and Kim Hye-jin’s ‘Another Me, Becoming You’ exhibition will be held on the 2nd floor of Hongti Art Village and Hongtikti. Artist Hyejin Jeon works with objects that have been abandoned and become obsolete. She uses shamanism, a product of primitive beliefs, to present her flat and three-dimensional works. In her work, Hyejin Kim seeks an object to comfort her with a chisel after a weary day. The target becomes the artist herself and delivers her message of comfort and healing.
