There are different types and forms of exotic sea fish sweeping Alexandria’s markets, including a type of shrimp-like crustacean called “shkara” or sea scorpions, and some of them are called limp shrimp, and a large number of citizens accept to buy it.

Mustafa Saeed, one of the fishermen, says that the price of a shovel or sea scorpion starts from 10 pounds up to 40 pounds, and it is accepted by a large number of citizens.

He added that its price depends on the roe in it, and its low price is free of roe, which the people of Alexandria consider as an entertainment on the dining table, and the method of cooking it is similar to cooking shrimp and crab.

He pointed out that the roe is full of nutritional value more than shrimp, but this information is not known by many, so the demand for shrimp is more and its price is high to increase the demand for it, especially jumbo, whose price reached 300 pounds per kilo.
