MASK MORE OBLIGATORY OUTDOOR
The director general of health Jérôme Salomon announced that the wearing of the mask should be lifted, in compliance with barrier gestures, from July 1, “if conditions allow”. Indoors, the mask will always be compulsory. “You know that indoors there is a lot more risk,” he recalls.
Regarding the curfew, Jérôme Salomon explained that the schedule for the easing of health restrictions would be respected and that it would therefore only be lifted on June 30, as planned. “We must still be vigilant, we must still be careful,” he said.
Speaking of vaccination, Jérôme Salomon opposed making it compulsory. However, “the entire population which is a candidate for vaccination, from 12 to 99 years old, must be encouraged to this vaccination”, he insisted. After reaching the threshold of 30 million people who received a first dose this weekend, the director general of health reiterated his goal of vaccinating as many French people as possible, explaining that this protects against variants, and in particular the delta.
