Sergio Ramos has again a smile from ear to ear in Paris. After his arrival last year at PSG after a traumatic departure from Real Madrid, where he left half his sports life, the Spanish central defender had had a bad time due to injuries that kept him away from the team for a long time. He was designated as one of the big disappointments of the season because of the high expectations that were held for him and that he could not meet, but now it seems that the tables have been reversed and that, in the least expected year, he can succeed at Paris Saint Germain.
The Sevillian defender had been one of the important pieces for Christophe Galtier during preseason games. The defense of three centrals for which the French coach has opted has opened a door for him and he knew how to make the most of it, so now he is not willing to get off the boat of ownership. That’s why, Ramos received the best possible news yesterday because in Paris Saint Germain’s first league match he was in the starting eleven alongside Marquinhos and Kimpembe. Except for surprise, these are the three central defenders of the French team for this course.
Sergio Ramos was correct and contributed to the victory of his team leaving a clean sheet. Of course, he was substituted in the 67th minute by Nordi Mukiele to give a bit of refreshment to the rear, but after last year and the ordeal experienced, it is not something that worries the Andalusian too much, who once again enjoys feeling like an important footballer.
It is true, however, that the Paris Saint Germain and Nasser Al-Khelaïfi continue combing the market in search of more reinforcements for the defense that increase competitiveness. Skriniar is still an option desired since the beginning of the summer but the truth is that the talks are not advancing and time continues to run against the PSG, although he does it in favor of the interests of Sergio Ramos so as not to have greater competition. For the moment, the season has started very well for the former player of the Real Madrid and there are already many who ask Luis Enrique to call him back for the Spanish National Team. If this is his performance, at least he should take it into account.
