According to local epidemic prevention regulations, all members of the delegation underwent nucleic acid testing at Narita International Airport and went to the resident hotel after passing the test collectively. The naturalized player Jiang Guangtai and Wu Lei, who played for the Espanyol club, also arrived in Tokyo at almost the same time. According to the plan, the whole team will have their first outdoor training after arriving in Tokyo on the afternoon of January 24.
Affected by the epidemic, the Japanese government has introduced very strict restrictions on the entry of foreigners. Although the Chinese team has been specially approved by the Japanese government to participate in Japan, all members must undergo nucleic acid testing at Narita Airport after arriving in Tokyo, and must wait for the nucleic acid results to pass before leaving the airport and heading to the resident hotel. Considering that the whole team had an intensive training session in Shanghai the day before departure, and it took nearly half a day to arrive at the away station, the coaching staff did not arrange training on the day the team arrived in Japan. It is worth noting that among the five “overseas players” who were recruited, Wu Lei and naturalized player Jiang Guangtai also arrived in Japan on the evening of January 23 local time, and they met members of the army at Narita Airport. The other three naturalized players, Luo Guofu, Alan and Fernando, were accidentally stranded in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, as a transit point during the flight from Sao Paulo, Brazil to Tokyo, due to the temporary cancellation of the flight.
